ERP Sanity CheckImplementing an ERP system is the equivalent of replacing an organization’s central nervous system. It is expensive, risky, and time consuming. It depletes resources. Done for the right reasons, the impact is immediate. Done for the wrong reasons, your organization could be left crippled. Sometimes, the need is obvious. The current system is at its end of life, or no longer supported. It’s a straightjacket to growth. More often, the reason is not so clear. Is the current system set up correctly? Are users performing their job function correctly? Would training solve these problems? Problems endemic to the organization will not be corrected by implementing a new system. We will work with you to make an honest assessment of the value a new system would bring. You will understand which problems are ERP-related, and which are not. Your decision regarding an ERP implementation will be fully supported by the facts gathered during this phase. Sometimes, we conclude that you don’t need a new system at all. |
